We believe organic cotton is better for the planet, even if there are also drawbacks to organic cotton farming. Organic cotton is grown from non-genetically modified seeds, without synthetic pesticides and fertilizers. The use of fewer synthetic pesticides helps preservation of biodiversity, as well as continued access to clean water and food supplies in neighboring communities. It also leads to better working conditions and health for cotton farmers. Most organic cotton is grown on small farms, and 80% of organic cotton is grown in rainfed areas, and thereby does not require much irrigation. The fabrics we use are GOTS certified, which covers both environmental and social impacts of both the farming and production of the fabrics.

We use organic cotton whenever we can choose it without compromising on quality, as we believe quality matters even more in a sustainability perspective. When you buy better quality, you can buy less in the long run.
